Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Rafi Vega (Flumberico)grew up in a family where music was as essential as air. His father played flamenco guitar in small taverns, while his mother was a literature professor who filled their home with poetry. This unique blend of rhythm and storytelling shaped Rafi’s creative identity from childhood. By age twelve, he had mastered classical guitar, but his curiosity soon drew him toward alternative and electronic music.
In his late teens, Rafi moved to London to pursue music production and performance. Struggling to find his footing, he played in various small bands while working part-time jobs to afford rent in a cramped East London flat. One night, a mutual friend invited him to a jam session with Jamie Kwon and Lila Maren. The moment Rafi began to play, his fluid guitar tone—melodic, emotional, and cinematic—transformed the sound of the group. Within weeks, Flumberico had found its missing piece.
